Ideal candidates are self-starters, quick learners, team players, great listeners, and insurance nerds. We are seeking applicants with experience in insurance rather than banking/mortgage underwriting.

Please come with a strong desire to leverage technology to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Skills and experience:

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time

  • English language (written & spoken), Spanish a plus

  • Insurance experience a plus but not required

  • Independent work habit requiring little direct supervision

  • Detail oriented and highly organized

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Keyboard typing at least 60 WPM (speed and accuracy are important)

  • Policy management experience with IMS or other systems

  • File maintenance and documentation of processes

  • Knowledge and skillful utilization of Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other programs as needed to execute assigned tasks

  • Administrative Assistant - No current openings

    • Provide front line support to receive guests, answer phones, handle mail, and direct inquiries

    • Review policies upon receipt, issue policies for delivery to underwriter or as directed within timeline established

    • Secure appropriate agent contract documents assuring receipt of signed agreements, license details and E&O proof

    • Review endorsements, audits or cancellations as directed by underwriter(s) or manager

    • Prepare premium finance contracts for delivery to agents with proposals

    • Provide quote issuance assistance as requested

    • Other support tasks as may be directed

  • Tax Specialist |Accounting - No current openings

    • Filing and electronic file maintenance

    • Policy issuance, check, and review

    • Policy checking, stamping, and delivery to agents

    • Surplus lines tax reporting and filing

  • Underwriting Assistant - No current openings

    • Assist with response to team phone calls

    • Maintain electronic files per company guidelines (naming, savings, separating, sorting)

    • Prepare accurate quotes/proposals best fitted to account needs, deliver to agent

    • Prepare binding documentation, separate, sort, and save accurately 

    • Review policies upon receipt for delivery within timeline established

    • Prepare premium finance contracts for delivery to agents with proposals

    • Order Inspections as may be necessary per carrier contract guidelines

  • Assistant Underwriter (meets all the requirements above) - No current openings

    • Return all bind subjectives to carrier underwriters with our bind requests on brokered business

    • Review policy endorsements, audits or cancellations

    • Other support functions as may be requested from time to time

  • Associate Underwriter - No current openings

    • Carrier online rating

    • Analyze/review submissions determining carrier fit and final premium development

    • Quote Preparation and Proposal Delivery

    • Policy File Management (bind subjectives are received and supplied as necessary to carriers and underwriters)

    • Surplus Lines Tax Reporting for Filing (obtain appropriate forms, properly completed, filed accurately for tax filer ease of access)

  • Underwriter - No current openings

    • Continuing education programs completed or in process (CISR, CRIS, CIC)

    • College degree preferred, or education commensurate with requirement

    • 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry

    • 2+ years of experience underwriting for a carrier, MGU, or agency preferred

    • ISO rating knowledge mandatory

    • Licenses not required but preferred

    • Willing to complete courses, testing, and trainings as requested by employer

    • Familiarity with IMS or other MGA systems a plus

  • Senior Underwriter (meets all the requirements above) - No current openings

    • 5 years of insurance experience with company rating proficiency

    • Ability to rate property and casualty policies in variety of programs and with multiple insurers preferred

    • Completion of Designation Program (CISR, CRIS, CIC, CRM, ARM, or similar)

  • Underwriting Supervisor/Team Lead (meets all the requirements above) - No current openings

    • Pursuit of designation program (CISR, CRIS, CIC, CRM, ARM, CPCU, or similar)

    • 5+ years insurance industry experience

    • Prior role in management or supervisory capacity
